Female Amur Leopard in Falling Snow

On the first night in the hide I heard her saw-like roar echoing down the valley as she moved around in the dark but it was very difficult to make out anything other than the occasional flick of her tail.

She roared for a good hour or so on the second night before things went quiet. A few minutes later she suddenly snarled very loudly from what sounded like just the other side of the hide! I stayed awake for ages, utterly wired as I replayed the moment. The ranger brought me more food the next day so I nipped out to look for her tracks - they were just a few feet away from where I'd been lying - wow!

A couple of days later she appeared in late afternoon daylight just as it began to snow.
